Calculation inputs checklist
What to confirm before using an Australian electrical calculator output in a design, quote or site review.
Input order
- Confirm the supply arrangement and nominal voltage used by the project.
- Record the source of the current, power, route length, product rating or measured value.
- Check whether the value is measured, designed, scheduled or assumed.
- Enter the values into the calculator that owns the task.
- Review the result assumptions before sharing or applying the output.
Common input checks
| Input | Use | Confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Supply arrangement | Current, voltage drop and demand calculations | Single-phase or three-phase context |
| Route length | Voltage drop and cable quantity | One-way length unless the calculator states otherwise |
| Load current | Cable, protection and demand work | Measured, scheduled or design current source |
| Product data | Motors, transformers, PV, inverters and batteries | Current datasheet or nameplate |
When to stop
- Stop if the project voltage or phase arrangement is not known.
- Stop if the current value is copied from an old schedule without checking the load.
- Stop if product data, authority requirements or manufacturer limits control the decision.
